Beginning December 1st and throughout the Christmas season we will be using a devotional on carols created by Life.Church in the United States.  We thank them for their willingness to share their resources.

Read
Isaiah 9:2 (NIV)
The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned.

Reflect
A light dawned in this world that changed all of life forever. The Second Person of the Triune God became man. He was fully human, with flesh and blood, and human emotions. He could feel pain. He could identify with the weakness of mankind. He had personality. He got tired. He conversed. He smiled. He laughed. Finally, for a brief period in all of time, the world could see what God is like.

When He lived on earth in human form, with flesh and blood, He accomplished more in three short years of ministry than anyone else who has ever lived. When Jesus was talking with the Jews, He said, “You search the Scriptures because you believe they give you eternal life. But the Scriptures point to me!” (John 5:39 NLT). In God’s Word, you will discover Jesus. And you will find that He is the truth.

Do you want to know God? Then, look at Jesus. Where can you look at Him? In the Word of God. You will see Jesus on every page of your Bible.

Pray
Lord give me spiritual eyes to see you in the scriptures and in our everyday lives. Might we be light in the darkness of this present world. Amen.
