Youth Program Development Coordinator (Summer)

The incumbent supports the Children’s Ministry Director and assists the Youth Pastor in the development and execution of children and youth programs.

EastRidge Church will provide all training and ongoing coaching to the staff and encourage them to develop their gifts and passions as they relate to working in administration and customer service.

Responsibilities and Duties

Administrative

  • Research and develop age-appropriate content and activities for children and youth programs that are engaging and promote physical, emotional, and spiritual health with guidance from the Children’s Ministry Director and Youth Pastor
  • Develop program schedule for full-day activities which include off-site visits supporting local businesses/organizations that highlight children and youth activities such as farms, mini-golf courses, campgrounds, tree-top trekking, etc.
  • Create daily schedules for program/events and oversee logistics to ensure everything runs as smoothly as possible
  • Ensure all program/event activities prioritize the safety of all participants including volunteers and staff
  • Recruit volunteers for roles such as group leaders, snack team, greeters, setup/tear down teams, etc., to support running a successful program/event
  • Create a master schedule for volunteers, leaders, staff and program support staff to ensure adequate resources are allotted for program/event days
  • Train volunteers on safety protocols and program content and activities
  • Create program/event registration forms and sign-up sheets for various activities such as volunteer recruitment, lunches, etc.
  • Coordinate with vendors for logistics and pricing
  • Arrange meal and stay accommodations for program support staff
  • Set up check-in system for attendance reporting and group management
  • Purchase and assemble all materials for program
  • Manage budget to ensure financial targets are met, and programs are affordable for local community members and have low environmental impact
  • Assist the Children’s Ministry Director and Youth Pastor in the successful execution of all programs and events
  • Develop communication content for the promotion of programs
  • Coordinate with Creative/IT Director in marketing and delivering programs to the masses
  • Document processes and procedures; make recommendations and suggestions for program/logistics improvements for the future
  • Create a work-back schedule for staff to follow during off-season

Customer Service

  • Provide a warm and welcoming environment for children, youth and parents
  • Communicate effectively with parents, participants, volunteers, leaders, staff and program support staff to ensure everyone is well informed of all activities and changes
  • Greet members, visitors, and staff with a positive disposition
  • Prioritize building relationships with those who attend the programs for a positive rapport with the community
  • Respond to all inquiries related to programs, program registration, volunteer sign-ups and scheduling, etc.
  • Support staff in running community engagement events for members and visitors

Qualifications

  • Agreement with the statements of faith, vision and values of EastRidge Church
  • Minimum OSSD or high school diploma
  • Enrolling into post-secondary education in Fall 2026
  • A current police background check

Requirements & Skills

  • Experience working with children and/or youth
  • Experience with computers, e-mails (we are a Mac environment)
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Communicate effectively to inform and educate, written format and orally
  • Extremely organized
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Personable and friendly

Accountability

The incumbent will be directly accountable to the Children’s Ministry Director and EastRidge Staff.

Hiring Period & Work Hours:

  • May 5, 2026 – August 28, 2026
  • Work hours:
    • Total: 37.5 hours/week
    • Mondays – Fridays: 9am-5pm (with half hour unpaid lunch)
    • Some weekends and weeknights may be required

Social Media Coordinator/Photographer (Summer)

Qualifications

  • Agreement with the statements of faith, vision and values of EastRidge Church
  • Minimum OSSD or high school diploma
  • Enrolling into post-secondary education in Fall 2026

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Research audience preferences and discover current trends
  • Create engaging text, image and video content
  • Design posts to sustain readers’ curiosity and create buzz around upcoming events
  • Measure web traffic and monitor SEO
  • Stay up to date with changes in all social platforms ensuring maximum effectiveness
  • Develop an optimal posting schedule, considering web traffic and customer engagement metrics
  • Oversee social media accounts’ layouts
  • Suggest new ways to attract prospective customers, like promotions and competitions
  • Photographing subjects, such as events, landscapes, products, and models
  • Setting up the necessary lighting at their location of work or studio
  • Identifying the locations which are most likely to generate the best pictures

Requirements and Skills

  • Expertise in multiple social media platforms
  • Knowledge of Canva, Capcut, Adobe Premiere or any photo/video editing software
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
  • Knowledge of SEO, keyword research and Google Analytics is an asset
  • Knowledge of Pro Presenter is an asset
  • Must know how to operate an DSLR
  • Ability to deliver creative content (text, image and video)
  • Familiarity with online marketing strategies and marketing channels
  • Ability to grasp future trends in digital technologies and act proactively
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to stay motivated and the willingness to work independently
  • Being structured, detail-oriented, organized, reliable, and highly responsible
  • Being open to new ideas and the ability to work cohesively with an assistant or team
  • Excellent leadership and customer service skills

Summer Contract

  • Work hours:
    • Total: 37.5 hours/week
    • Sundays at 8:30 – 11:30am (Sunday church services)
    • Tuesday – Fridays: 8:30am – 5pm (with half hour unpaid lunch)
      • Some evenings during the week: 2.5 hours/week
