Read: Eph. 1:3-6. Vs. 4
For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight.

Reflect: Sometimes when I think of the wonder and the plan of God it all just goes way beyond even the imagination. To understand that from before the creation of the world God’s plan of salvation was already in place.

This truth can absolutely stretch our minds to the limit and in fact it shows that God’s thinking is way beyond our ability to understand. When we think of the universe and God’s creative power from our galaxy to our planet, to vegetation and animal life, all the way to the creation of humanity one must be filled with awe and wonder. To think that God prepared a way for us to live with him in eternity, to know who would respond to the gift of eternal life through his son – all of it goes beyond our ability to understand.

So, there is still great mystery in all of this. Yet God makes His ways clear enough for us to understand. As our creator, God knows our mind and He knows we can understand what it means to be chosen, loved and called to be holy. He tells up those truths in His word and much more. Even though we cannot understand all that God does, or why, we can be sure that He loves us and wants what is best for us. In eternity past God made plans to adopt us into His family so that we can have eternal life and live forever with Him in glory.

It is beyond our capacity to understand how and why God in his foreknowledge chose to love each one of us to be his children. Thanks be to God for his love, mercy & grace.

Pray:
Thank you, Father, for your call upon our lives to be one of your beloved children. In a world that is broken and burdened by sin, help us to share your love everywhere. In Jesus name, Amen.
